On Friday, 28 November 2008, CrossFit Oakland co-owner Mike Minium dreamed up a very painful workout consiting of the following triplet to be repeated for three rounds in two-person teams:
  • 3 Back Squat
  • 6 Thruster
  • 9 Burpee
The workout was done against the clock. One team member would complete the triplet at which point the other team member would begin. One round was completed when both athletes completed the triplet. Squats and thrusters were to be done heavy. Manwell, Connor, MJJ, and Brandon used 275 lbs for the squat and 175 lb for the thrusters. Brad and Tom C used 225 lb for the squat and 135 lb for the thrusters. Great suffering was to be had by all. Pictures taken by Vee and Audra. The two shots of the Masters class taken by Tom.
